Meet Stephanie Blum, Occupational Therapist
Stephanie joined Waypoint to help support students in cultivating their unique skills to enrich their learning experiences.
Stephanie has a decade of experience predominantly working with children as an occupational therapist. Throughout these experiences, she has come to understand there are diverse ways to think, learn, perceive, and process information. As a result, Stephanie has come to understand that each person is a product of their own environment and context. As an occupational therapist, it is important to consider an individual’s physical, cognitive, emotional, and sensory functions and how they impact their everyday life. Her mission is to validate each person’s unique life experience and collaborate on strategies and adaptations that students, families, and educators can implement to more effectively access learning and engagement in their everyday life. Stephanie has found through practice that such an approach facilitates students to be able to adapt to tasks, problem solve, and self-advocate. She enjoys the opportunity to problem solve with compassion and respect of autonomy, while sharing knowledge and resources, to continue to learn as a student-centered team.
When Stephanie is not working, she enjoys spending time outside, especially stewarding a small regenerative farm with her husband.
