Meet Alayne Vokurka, Founder
Alayne Vokurka started Waypoint after observing firsthand the challenges students and families face in navigating learning differences and the education system.
Alayne has worked in public and private education for over two decades as a teacher, interventionist, reading specialist, literacy coach and education consultant. She has had experience and training in the Wilson Reading System, a structured literacy program based on phonological-coding research and Orton-Gillingham principles. She folds in instructional components such as the work of David Kilpatrick and works to fill each session with joy! She finds happiness in working with children, along with the help of Waypoint’s talented team!
Alayne is married with three boys (ages seventeen, fifteen and twelve). Her family enjoys hiking and fishing. As a busy mom, she can relate to the challenges parents face, wanting to ensure their children are given the best resources to progress. Waypoint wishes to cultivate a community of lifelong learners who find joy in the journey!
